Microsoft Targets 1 Billion Devices Run Windows 10

Microsoft has ambitious plans for Windows 10. Speaking on stage at the Build conference in 2015, Terry Myerson, Executive Vice President of Microsoft, said that Microsost targeting 1 billion devices will be running Windows 10 within one to three years.

Reporting from Mashable, (29/04), as a comparison of the target Microsoft it is Android OS v4.4 KitKat, which managed to run at about 500 million devices worldwide.

iOS 8 is devices in smaller amounts. "With Apple, you choose to invest in iOS and OS X. With Google, of course to the Android or Chrome. So Windows is the only platform that lets you bring all applications for these devices efficiently. To make this all worthwhile for developers, we realize that we need to adopt a more broadly Windows 10 quickly, "says Myerson.

Update Windows 10 will be known and available free of charge and launched around the middle of this year.
