A Time Korean report says that Apple and LG has signed an agreement with Samsung billions of dollars to supply the latest RAM modules in their upcoming flagships, tentatively named LG G4 and Apple iPhone 6S (or iPhone 7).

The report does not mention what kind of RAM reserved. However, Samsung recently announced that it has begun mass production of DDR4 RAM, made with 20nm process, as well as the latest memory chips combined 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory.

So according Phonarena, Apple and LG mengingnkan DDR4, and doubt Apple will use technology that is lower than that for the iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 (next iPhone generation), while LG had already announced the first mobile phone with DDR4 RAM ie G Flex 2, so may G4 will be equipped with the same technology.

"Under the agreement, Samsung will begin supplying LG Electronics with 100 percent of DRAM chips needed for LG G4 smartphone, which will be unveiled in April as well, Samsung will handle at least half of the required number of new iPhone," said the industry source was quoted as saying Korea Times.

So what are the advantages of DDR3 DDR4 than in the current flagships? Surely DDR4 RAM offers twice the density and performance of I / O, for starters, Samsung offers the technology to 20nm production methods.
